Hello to all of you Conure lovers or soon-to-be Conure lovers! My name is Larry and I am a Black-Capped
Conure. For those of you who don't know, Conures are a type of small parrot. I am in the Pyrrhura genus
of Conures. Some other Pyrrhuras that are a little more well known are the Green Cheek, the Painted, and
the Maroon Bellied Conures.
Us Pyrrhuras are known to be a little smaller and a little less noisy than other
types of conures in the Aratinga genus (like those noisy Sun and Jenday Conures). But don't think I'm
a quiet or shy bird. That certainly doesn't describe me! Just ask my Mama and Daddy...they'll tell you that I
make a great alarm clock, if you want to get up around 6:45 on the weekends.
